Everyone of our customers are as individual as our trailers. We like to offer all of our customers the ability to have their trailers built or customized to suit their own specific requirements and needs. So if you would like to use your trailer to bring fine wines back from France, take the family camping in Europe or be more adventurous and dissappear off on a safari to some long lost corner of the world, we can help you prepare your Merlin Safari trailer to take the load off the roof of your 4x4. We have developed a range of products, specific to our Safari trailer, to help you acheive the trailer that suits you.

Roof rack:

This ladder rack bolts directly to the trailer roof panel for you to mount bike carriers, surf boards, canoes etc…

Safari rack:

Manufactured from lightweight and tough aluminium. The Safari rack has a removable rail which will enable you to tie down larger loads or even mount a roof tent. Finished in silver powder coat gives your trailer a tough go anywhere look.

Rear Spare Wheel Carrier:

Mounted using a heavy duty frame and supported by the main rear chassis cross-member. Land-Rover wheel types utilise an original Discovery rear door mounted carrier whilst other makes utilise the item from their manufacture where possible.

Rear Stand:

These are ideal for keeping your trailer stable when standing on its own. A must if using a roof tent to support the trailer.

Jerry can holders:

The 20 ltr jerry can holders mount perfectly within the rear fender aperture. Protected by the Fenders, which are integrated into the main chassis frame, the rear quarters make an excellent place for keeping spare fuel or water in a safe lockable place.

Front Storage Box:

The front storage area, constructed from the “Zintec”, suitable for string those day to day items that you need quick access to. It is also utilised to house the on board 12volt power system if required.

Chequer Plate kit:

This plate covers all four corner fender areas, making them into a useful seat/step and comprises of 3 strips to protect each wing top. Whilst functional they also add to the character and rugged looks.

Lashing rail & Clips:

Aluminium extruded rail with fully adjustable clips give you plenty of options to tie down any loads. The rail is mounted directly through the floor and into the chassis frame for maximum strength.

Lid Luggage Net:

Specially made in Scotland with an elasticated front side for access, the lid luggage net utilises the space within the roof area to store lighter items such as coats and sleeping bags. If you are planning trips into cold climates we do recommend putting a lining into the roof to protect your luggage from condensation. (please ask for details).

Cast Lockable Tow hitch:

This cast unit is stronger than the standard unit with a locking pin available to lock the trailer to your vehicle. These are excellent security when travelling in this country or abroad.

Matching Wheel option:

Utilising matching wheels not only adds to the aesthetics of your vehicle and trailer set up, it can be a great help, especially if on safari, where it will give you the option where your spare wheel will fit both vehicle and trailer. Beter still if you are running a spare wheel on both vehicle and trailer.
